Dealers:
1/17/2014 Update
With just six weeks remaining until we close up shop we wanted to give you an update on our final sale plans and building remodeling progress:
"Grand Store Closing Sales Event" - While many of you have already begun promoting your "moving/closing/liquidation" sale within your own booths or showcases our store-wide promotion will begin on January 27th. A new TV commercial is now in production and will start airing on WDRB and WMYO a week from Monday. We have also reserved ad space in the Voice-Tribune and LEO weeklies with an ad in the Courier-Journal still pending. Additionally there will be news stories on the local networks and other publications that will help the advertising of our closing. Direct emails and social media contact campaigns are also planned to help spread the word.
The focal point of this advertising is our "Grand Store Closing Sales Event" which will be held Thursday, Feb 20th through Sunday, Feb 23rd. We hope and expect this to be a very busy weekend with record sales. Please be as aggressive as you can in your discounts and the display of your merchandise. Sale banners, posters, and other signage will begin being posted inside and outside the mall next week.
"Building Progress" - Wehr Constructors of Louisville was formally announced as the general contractors for the Germantown Mill Lofts project last week. This well known and highly respected firm ensures us of a top notch construction process for the completion of our apartment complex conversion.
One of the first steps to be taken is asbestos abatement which exists primarily within the roofing and window insulation throughout the property. Cardinal Insulation has been sub-contracted to perform this remediation. This expensive and specialized work will begin on Monday, March 3rd and is scheduled to be completed by June 9, 2014. During this time the entire work-site will be quarantined and off-limits to anyone not authorized, trained, and outfitted for exposure to this potentially hazardous environment.
We want to make sure you are aware of this limitation and want to reiterate the importance of removing all of your merchandise from the mall's premises prior to the close of business on Sunday, March 2, 2014. As per prior notifications, any remaining items will be considered abandoned property and will be disposed of accordingly. Please do not wait until the last minute to vacate your booths or displays as exceptions, variances, or extensions to this policy are out of our control.
12/20/2013 Update
As a follow-up to the dealer meeting we held last month regarding the closing of our antique mall please note:
1. Goss Avenue Antiques & Interiors is terminating its lease with the property owners on December 31, 2013. However, arrangements have been made for two additional months of occupancy so that we may more efficiently bring our business to an end.
2. As provided in our Dealer Handbook a two-week notice to vacate must be provided if you desire to move out prior to February 28, 2014. Monthly rent will not be pro-rated for partial month occupancy.
3. We will be conducting a "Store Closing Sale" throughout February, 2014 culminating in a final clearance event to be held Thursday, February 20th through Sunday, February 23rd. Extensive promotion and advertising will be focused on this event. Sales and other operations will continue until 6pm on Friday, February 28th.
4. The Dealer Entrance door and ramp will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (March 1st and 2nd) for inventory check-out only. Staffing at that time will be minimal so please be patient and make every effort to reduce/remove your items beforehand. Any remaining merchandise within the mall’s premises after 5pm, March 2, 2014 will be considered abandoned property and disposed of accordingly.
5. We anticipate a great deal of activity on site next February and the coordinated use of elevators, loading docks, parking lots, etc. will be challenging. Please be considerate of your fellow dealers and our staff as we work through this process.
Please continue to check this section of our website for updates on the mall's closing.
